Finding a good work-at-home job is not easy. Although you see all the online advertising, there aren't that many of them. Those that are available may require that you live in a certain area or spend at least some time in the office. Others may be only part-time jobs. Keep in mind that the skills needed for home employment are similar to those needed for working in an office. You'll also need a home office with a high speed internet connection, phone, fax, computer, printer, and other basic office equipment. To get started, consider your job search as your job. Spend as many hours per week on your job search as you would spend working. If you're looking for full-time work, you should be spending fill-time hours seeking a job. Networking (人际关系) remains the top way to find a job and it does work. Develop contacts—friends, family, even the other job seekers—anyone who might have the information you need. You can take a direct approach and ask for job information or try a less formal approach and ask for information and advice. Contact everyone you know and tell them you want to work from home. You may be surprised by the people they know and the job information they can provide.
According to the first paragraph, it is not easy to find good work-at-home jobs because ______.
A、they are seldom advertised online or in newspapers
B、they may require that you live in a certain place
C、you are always asked to work full-time
D、you need to have a college degree

We live in a society in there is a lot of talk about 【M1】______
science, but I would say that there are not 5 percent of
the people who are equipped with schooling, including
college, to understand scientific reasoning. We are
more ignorant of science as people with comparable 【M2】______
educations in Western Europe.
There are a lot of kids who know everything about
Computers who to build them, how to take them apart,
how to write programs for games. So if you ask them 【M3】______
to explain about the principles of physics that have gone 【M4】______
into creating the computer, you don't have the faintest idea. 【M5】______
The failure to understand science leads to such
things like the neglect of the human creative power. 【M6】______
It also takes rise to a blurring(模糊) of the distinction 【M7】______
between science and technology. Lots of people don't
differ between the two. Science is the production 【M8】______

technology is the application of knowledge to the
production of some products, machinery or the like.
The two are really very different, and people who have
the faculty for one very seldom have a faculty for the other.
Science in itself is harmless, more or less. But as

W: No, I'm not sure I'm going to.
M: There's not much time left. The deadline's May 1. That is just two weeks from now. Are you short of cash.
W: No, I'm Okay.
M: You'd better hurry up if you want a dorm room next September. There aren't enough rooms for every one, and first-year students have priority.
W: Well, I've been thinking about living off campus.
M: Have you any idea how much that would cost? There is the rent, utilities, and you'd probably need a car.
W: I know it would be more expensive. I think I can handle it though. The dorm is just so noisy that I can't get anything done. Maybe my grades would be better if I had some peace and quiet in a place of my own.
M: You should study in the library the way I do. Think of the money you'd save.
W: I've got to think it over some more. There's still two weeks left in April.

1.2 million Hispanics live in the Big Apple and one in five New Yorkers speaks Spanish at home. In the last ten years, the Hispanic population has grown by 400 000. This reflects the enormous increase in the Hispanic population in the States. There are now 42 million Hispanics resident in the USA, representing 15% of the total population.
There is a new language, SPANGLISH – a strange mixture of Spanish and English – which is invading the city. The New York Times recently said that it had become the city’s third official language. Its use is colloquial and often limited to short sentences and signs. Many New Yorkers now wear socketines on their feet, drop something on the carpeta, shop for grocerias and have cornfley (“cornflakes”) for breakfast.
Norma Rodríguez, a 45-year-old Cuban living in Washington Heights, says it forms a part of her life now: “Sometimes, you don’t realize that you’re mixing the two languages. You just hear them both all the time and find that you’re inventing new words.” Other people, however, are fighting against this new street language. Businessman Juan Cortés sees it as a sign that the Spanish language is being destroyed. “It’s difficult, but I try not to speak it – it feels vulgar to me.”
Meanwhile, a surprising number of academics have spoken in favour of Spanglish. José María Ruiz, from NY State University, even runs courses in Spanglish and has written a dictionary. “It is a dialogue between two languages and cultures. We have to accept that languages change and evolve. The only languages that never change are dead ones.”

2、More people are interested in studying Spanish than before.()

5、Juan Cortés doesn’t speak Spanglish because he feels stupid when he tries.()
